We’re a few days away from the start of 2022, and I just want to get on with it. Yes, I know Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles were courageous. Yes, I know everyone was talking about Squid Game and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Yes, I’m sad all those celebrities died this year. No, I don’t want to watch the January 6 Insurrection again, except to see all those responsible get hauled off to prison. I want to get started on the new stuff.

Here are some of my goals for 2022 and what you can expect to see on my website and Medium in the coming year.

You will start seeing more book reviews and interviews of other writers. I joined a community called Feed My Readswhere writers support each other by doing interviews and book reviews. It’s a great way to get the word out about other indie authors and help each other build our readership. I’ve always believed that writing is a cooperative, and not a competitive, enterprise. (Something I also experienced in Little League.) I encourage you to support the writers I share my platform with.

Speaking of Feed My Reads, I will participate in their online event in February. Look for my sessions on my website under “Upcoming Events.”

I’m resuming work on my novel Christina’s Portrait for Fun A Day Reseda in 2022. I plan to finish it this year. But I have some research to do in the San Fernando Valley, and I hope the…
